Sound patterns are like musical puzzles - claps, notes, and beats that repeat or change. They help us guess what comes next and make songs fun to follow. From catchy rhythms to cool melodies, patterns keep music exciting and easy to remember!

Session Two:

Sound Pattern Attributes

Music is also made using SOUND PATTERNS.
A SOUND PATTERN
is when a sound is repeated many times.
A SOUND PATTERN
can have any of the attributes of a SOUND but
SOUND PATTERNS
can also have other attributes.

Even or Uneven

A sound pattern can be EVEN.
A sound pattern is EVEN if your mind can tell when the next sound will happen.
Your brain remembers the space of time between each sound.

a TAP DRIPPING
a HEART BEATING
WAVES ROLLING

A sound pattern can be UNEVEN.
You can’t tell when the next sound will happen.

Louder or Softer

A sound pattern can be GETTING LOUDER.
A sound pattern can be GETTING SOFTER.
The sound of a car coming closer

The sound of a car going away

Higher or Lower

A sound pattern can be GETTING HIGHER.
A sound pattern can be GETTING LOWER.
Higher in pitch which is created by vibrations.
Vibrations of high sounds are faster than vibrations of low sounds.

Fast or Slow

A sound pattern can be GETTING FASTER.
A sound pattern can be GETTING SLOWER.
