The bottom figure in Time Signatures

What's the bottom figure for?

In music, the bottom number of a time signature tells you what kind of note gets one beat. For example, if the bottom number is 4, then a quarter note gets one beat. It helps you understand how to count the music and what the rhythm feels like.
