What is a 4/4 Song in music Theory?

Sing along in four

In a lot of popular music each bar has 4 beats. That means you count “1, 2, 3, 4” over and over as you play. It’s called 4/4 time, and it’s one of the most common time signatures. These groups of 4 help keep the rhythm clear and make it easy to play along.

Session Six:

4 Beat Song

Ludwig will show you how he keeps the beat of a song where the beats have been measured into groups of Four.

Ludwig’s baton makes a Square shape in the air.
He lowers his arms on the first beat of each bar.

Many pieces of music use a 4 Beat Pattern.
It is the most often used beat pattern used in music.
Another word for ‘most often used’ is common.

Here is the audio track for the 4 Beat Song.
